AUSTRALIA ON DISPLAY AT BRIS JAM
Date: 20/09/13
As well as playing home to some of the most thrilling sports compact drag racing the country has to offer, it sometimes goes overlooked that Jamboree is a vessel through which we can expose the talent of Australian businesses and workshops to the world, given the event’s massive international popularity.
“Jamboree has always had a very strong support from the automotive aftermarket both in terms of trade stand displays and in terms of support from sponsors,” explains Ray Box of the relationship between the event, the businesses and the eager audience of consumers.
“One of the most unique things about the event is that, in many instances, the vehicles racing are built almost entirely with the parts on display at the trade stands in the pits. You can see Australian products put to the ultimate test, on an Australian drag strip by an Australian team,” says Ray.
Without singling out any businesses, Jamboree is proud to give companies that develop, manufacture and sell their wares here in Australia the chance to expose their products to the aftermarket.
The only exception to the all-Aussie aftermarket arsenal is new sponsors of the Factory Xtreme class, Precision Turbo and Engine who distribute exclusively in Australia through their network of authorised Australian resellers.
“It’s important to showcase the talents of Australian car builders and workshops, too,” insists Ray, who himself has been building cars for more years than he cares to remember.
“When you see Australian workshops campaigning their cars, knowing that most if not all of the work has been done here in Australia, getting international acclaim it can only be a good thing for the strength of the Australian racing scene, and the car scene at large,” he says in closing.
