QUOTEBOARD: Saturday 25 August at the Honeywell Garrett Brisbane Jamboree presented by Link ECU and Tuners Edge

Factory Xtreme Top Qualifier – Gabriel Rodriguez, #2500 Titan Motorsports Toyota Camry

"Today was a very good day. We had our first qualifying passes and we did 6.04 seconds at 238 miles per hour and I am happy with that. To be the first qualifier here is good. Tomorrow is a new day and we will see what happens. I expect ‘five-sevens’. The event is excellent and so are the facilities and the people. The event organisation is extremely good; I seriously love it, it is awesome."

Bosch Motorsport Pro Turbo Top Qualifier – Jay Sadek, #3158 Sadek Motor Group Mazda RX3

"Our first pass today was 7.0s at 192mph, the second pass after that was 6.94s at 197mph and the car was feeling good, it was going strong. When it cooled down, we wanted to put a bit more power in it. We spun it a bit but I drove through it on the third pass and it went 7.0s at 192mph. The car is consistent and we are happy with it, that is what we are chasing at the moment, we don’t want to break records yet as I am still new to it. I am having fun as it is, I still look at the car and can’t believe I am driving it, especially at my age! A big thanks goes to my dad (Sam Sadek) and Pac Performance as well, I am not taking the opportunity for granted. It is great to top qualify in my first race event in this car and my first race event in Pro Turbo. Ever since I was a little kid I wanted to race in Pro Turbo, I saw my dad racing there and I said I would love to race in that class; my thanks to my dad, he gave me my dream come true. It was also good today to race against Nick Tsoltoudis, we are all friends here but I have always wanted to get him!"

Pro Compact Top Qualifier – Chris Tait, #1260 MTQ Nissan 200SX

"From the start of the day we said we were going to turn the boost down and try and get down the track rather than push a PB. With that in mind we have lowered the boost by at least 30psi. In the first run, we snapped the brake pedal off and we had to fix that, Jamie from ET Chassis welded that up for us. On the next pass we bogged down off the start and went down 1000 revs and broke the diff centre. We put a new diff centre in, tickled the clutch a bit, took some fuel out of it and then we just left the boost where it was, built some revs on the startline and it did what it did. The best part of the last run was after the skid the dash was showing zero oil pressure! I knew it couldn’t be as it was still running. I said to the boys I needed to practice cutting a light because we can run 6.90s and probably be competitive and not need to turn it up, but I need to cut a light. So I was more happy with the light! To run 6.98s at only 195mph was good too as it still has nothing in it, and only one chute came out too. Tomorrow we are hoping to leave it where it is. We don’t want to turn it up too much, I could turn it up truckloads, we know we can do 6.90s easy without having to push it."

IHRA Pro Mod Top Qualifier – Paul Mouhayet, #1 Moits Racing/Mack Trucks/Komatsu Ford Mustang Pro Slammer

"We certainly are happy with that. This morning we went 5.63s at 260mph and then the next run we hopped it up a bit more and it went 5.61s at 261mph which was the fastest mph we have ever done. Then we tried to hop it up again for Q3 and it went another half a mile faster but other than that it just repeated what it did the run before. We are really happy with that consistency. Going into race day tomorrow we will be way more conservative, I will turn it right down and try and go rounds to win. I love the whole Jamboree concept, it is a good concept. Hopefully tomorrow we will be taking that ‘J’ (trophy) home, we will see what happens!"

PWR Cash Boost winner for Bosch Motorsport Pro Turbo – Jason Payne, #3318 Autobarn Bundaberg Nissan Skyline GTR

"The day went perfectly with a PB off the trailer of a 6.90s and then we backed that up twice with two 7.0s. It just went perfectly. To take out the PWR Cash Boost was awesome and I think it is a very good initiative – anyone can go fast once!"
